KNEES OVER TOES (Guy) EXERCISE

Hi there,

i want to read your opinions and experiences with this kind of training: to understand ewhat i mean can you take a look to the famous youtube channel from Ben Patrick alias "knees over toes guy".

He created now a tendence in fitness industry and it seems in the last time all the personal trainers and fitness experts are discovering how good that training is.

I have tryed it for myself following his program with dedication for 3 months (avoiding all the things doesn't match with Gokhale's good posture)

-in the beginning was hard to control the movement, really hard to not overdo o cultivate bad form

-than i received the gains: with both meniscus broken and a story of problems expecially at hte right knee i found my self in the better-knees-form ever at 38, really bulletproofing my knees

- going on i received maybe the bill... numble cracking and instability, but without any sort of pain.

I stopped the program and descalate the exercises to the very basic, expecially about the rom.

I really like to receive a opinion about the knees-over-toes-movement from Gokhale experts and read about the opinions/experiences of you all.

Hello, Ty

I am familiar with Ben Patrick and his "knees over toes" style exercises. Just from people's comments and my own experience, it seems it does a lot of good for a lot of people.

But with something like you stated, a broken meniscus, it is always best to get a physicians opinion before doing something as challenging as his exercises. They can be beneficial, but if you are already really injured, they might not be appropriate until you are better.

Just in general, I am quite the fan of the work. But everything is not for everyone all the time.

Thank you for the reply, Eric!

What you are writing is driven by wisdom and is ok.

I wanted to "put in context" the work of Ben Patrick and hes intuition about descalating and reversing a full rom movement to "regenerate" a joint.

It's definitively something really good in there, my knees are in better shape now than ever, maybe i was too far and i will limit myself to the basic level witohout pushing forwarth. But in my opinion it's tricky too: like in much cases a testimonial is in good shape more despite what he does than because of he does. It's a lot of lumbar spine bending-flattening-curving in Patrick's program and sounds me dangerous. He does many exercises with a tucked pelvis, and that's in my experience is ever a no-no.

Can we define two different principles for spine and other joints?
