Pelvic floor

Hi,  I don't hear "pelvic floor" mentioned in the Gokhale method.  Strengthening through kegels, etc.  Pilates and yoga always emphasize the pelvic floor and that it is the foundation everything else in the core. Is it an important part of inner corset or just something they are just making up?

Hi. I am a student of Gokhale. Esther has great explanations of what you are referring to. The best way I can explain is that once your body is in its proper alignment (especially the pelvis) then the muscles you are speaking of are in their respective homes and there is not need for specific exercises to work them. 

Page 73 of Esther's book 8 Steps (fig 3-9) states "With an anteverted pelvis (a), the pubic bone is postitioned to support the pelvic organs. With a retroverted pelvis (b), the Kegel (pubo-cocygeal) muscle is obliged to assume this role." (a and b are visuals of this).

During the daily program Q&A and other workshops, this question does come up and teachers give generous explanations. Hope this gives you some guidance.
