Is anyone familiar with Dr. Jolie Bookspan? Her posture method shares some similarities to the Gokhale method but she suggests tucking the hip under to reduce excessive lower back curve (while still retaining some lumbar curve). You can see the principle here in this article, http://www.drbookspan.com/AbsArticle.html. She does not talk about keeping the pelvis anteverted though, but the method works to relieve my back pain so I guess I am trying to understand this difference with the Gokhale method (or if there actually is any in the final result).

I have some of Jolie Bookspan's books, and I was using her methods before I read Esther's book. Jolie Bookspan has some excellent stretches, but she advocates tucking the pelvis in order to prevent a sway in the back. After learning Esther's method, I continued with some of Jolie Bookspan's stretches, but modified them so that I was anchoring the rib cage rather than tucking the pelvis.
The lunge Bookspan recommends for bending is a good hamstring stretch, as long as you don't tuck the pelvis. I like to do it backwards, and I get a hamstring stretch in the front leg. I like some of her upper body stretches, particularly the one lying on the back over an exercise ball, and letting the arms dangle overhead or out to the sides. After a bit resting like this, my pecs release.
The main difference between the two methods, as you know, is pelvis anteversion vs. tucking. For me, since I have been conciously trying to maintain an anteverted pelvis, I have had pain reduction and better posture, including my shoulders, not just my lower body.

There has been many a example of female celebrities who have been photographed wearing items of jewelry which can be simply stunning around the Oscars all over the years.Madonna, for example, was sporting $20 , 000, 000 worth regarding diamonds for her knee, ears, and wrists in the 1991 Oscars.Only at that year's function, the bracelets worn through the stars were no less eye-catching, and some people included pretty much every design that you think in almost every hue on the rainbow.
Best Occasional actress nominee Keira Knightley seemed to be wearing a vintage Bulgari chandelier diamond necklace of diamonds, rubies, emeralds, as well as sapphires, whose colorations were reminiscent of a peacock's feathers.Jennifer Lopez has been wearing protruding earrings along with a necklace for gold and additionally diamonds from Fred Leighton, that also fashioned Dolly Parton's diamond earrings and brooch.Charlize Theron's tawny jewelry were supplied by Chopard; so ended up being Hilary Swank's diamond earrings, bracelet and also ring.Expensive diamonds were as well the popular stones for actresses want Jennifer Aniston, that sported your cleavage-enhancing necklace around your neck.Other woman's celebrities who were seen wearing diamond jewelry were Top Supporting Presenter winner Rachel Weisz, Full Latifah, Felicity Huffman as well as Jessica Alba.
Diamonds have been also any bling of choice for all the men of your evening.Diamond studs bespoked the earlobes of the kind of Ludacris and definately will Smith. But members from the hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia had taken the attraction with diamonds slightly further -- we were looking at wearing many techniques from diamond bracelets to diamonds watches to diamond earrings, and based on some reports, they sometimes had diamonds on their teeth.
Several stars will not own the countless dollars' worth of jewelry how they were carrying.Giants within the jewelry marketplace, such when Harry Winston, Erina Katz, as well as Kwiat, happen to be lending their particular masterpieces meant for celebrities to make sure you wear annually at typically the Oscars. Thus giving them superb exposure, which translates into a well-defined increase during sales -- specifically for designers in whose jewels are actually worn by just an accolade winner. While this red flooring can symbolize glamour just for Oscar viewers all over the world, for a designers, the reddish colored carpet is all about the probability of larger profits both in the home and in other countries.
The diamond jewelry worn by just celebrities throughout the Academy Cash incentives adds a better dimension from glamour to your event. If the designs will be discreet or perhaps ostentatious is not going to really really make a difference. What is important is which will with countless viewers all over the globe, celebrities should seem like they have right to make sure you walk downwards the pink carpet. And by using the bracelets they're having on, they carry out.The celebrities shine more and more brightly once a year during all the Oscars.

Hi Mike,
I found this topic very interesting. I recently stumbled upon Dr. Bookspan's website and ideas. Very interesting stuff about eliminating pain through good posture which is attained through everyday movements. There are differences like you said. Anteverted pelvis vs neutral. Hip hinge vs. proper squat. Weight on heel vs. weight on entire sole. Tuck vs. engage rib cage and some others. Just wondering what you think between the two. I was thinking about going to the Gokhale classes, but was wondering what you think of the differences seeing as your post was about a year ago. I'm assuming you've had some experience with both? Either way, hope you are feeling better! Thank you.

Hi Daniel (had to create a new account but I am the original poster), I switched from Bookspan's method to Gokhale's. I didn't have much experience with Bookspan's method, but tucking exercises in general were making my lower back pain worse so I decided to stop. The Gokhale method has nearly completely eliminated the back pain and leg problems I was having, so I am sticking with it! (I have to admit that after over a year of doing the Gokhale method I am still struggling to maintain the rib anchor, but that is another issue; I am probably doing something wrong.)
