Laying on Back with Head Elevated

Hello,

I need help with how to position myself when sleeping since I have to elevate my upper body while elevating (as in I am in a hospital bed). I do this because if I don't elevate my upper body I get pressure in my head and brain fog. However, I believe my hips are receiving a lot of pressure from this position. I would love to hear your advice! Can you please email me at [email protected] with advice?

Thank you!

Generally, for stretchlying on the back, we want our head, neck, shoulders 1 inch, on the pillow, rather than solely the head and neck - this helps rotate the rib cage very slightly, enough to reduce or eliminate a sway. However, in your particular case, for your medical needs, it seems from your description, that your rib cage is rotated quite a bit. Perhaps, reduce the number of pillows, to back reduce the pressure or reduce the angle of the bed,  if the bed is also adjusted to aid in the lifting the upper body?
