Support for Narrow Waist

Hello!

I have a thick mattress topper and narrow waist - something I've learned to be problematic with proper spinal alignment. When side stretchlying, I have placed a towel under my waist and pillow between legs for greater support. Does my body seem to need more support (pictures below)? Also, does the upper body need to be more upright after going through the positions, or just make sure sway in back is gone?

Thank you!

Hi!  Thank you for sending pictures--it really helps.

You look like you're doing well.  I can't really see your sway in these pictures, but you can check your spinal groove to see if it is deeper in one spot in the lower back than others.  If it is, there is more "sway" to get out.   I don't know what you mean by "more upright" in your upper body.  It looks good to me.

The one thing I notice is that your pillow may be just a little too high.   Maybe because your arm is under it?  If you imagine your head and neck as extensions of your spine, the entire thing should be straight when looking from the front.  The front image looks as if your head tilts up a bit.

Hope that helps!

Hi Abeja!

Thank you for your review and suggestions! I do agree, the pillow does look a little high. I will try something lower tonight! I was afraid the mattress topper wouldn't support my hips enough, but if the sway is even, it should be okay. By 'more upright', I mean should the upper body be more straight/in line with the legs, or is 'tilting forward' normal?

I posted some other questions for backsleeping and tallstanding as well, if you have a chance to look, I'd love your thoughts!
