Pain in heel
Over the last two or three months, I've been experiencing pain in my left heel.  I am able to continue most of my activities (walking, gardening) as usual, but am concerned that it is not improving and that when it is at its worst, I sort of stagger around rather than walking normally.  This is usually upon arising or after sitting for some period of time.  Any thoughts?

Sound like it could be Plantar Fasciitis, especially since it's worse when you first get up from sitting/sleeping. Here is some information about it: http://www.foothealthfacts.org/footankleinfo/heel-pain.htm
However, I think the best thing you can do to address it (in addition to some of the things they recommend, if you wish), is to really examine your weight distribution and structure in standing and walking. The parts 8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back that can help with foot pain are listed here.
