Recliners ok?

Hello,

I’m a Gokhale graduate.

Are there any protect-the-back recliner chairs on the market you can recommend?

At 78 I sometimes want to doze before 3 hours after a meal but not lay prone and create reflux.  Can leaning back but fully supported for a period of time be safe for the spine?

I don’t remember in the Foundations class that we covered this question.

Thank you.

Hi Michael,

I can't recommend any particular brand of recliner, but basically, you want to not have it bucket in the seat, and not have a "lumbar support".  You can certainly Recline while stretch sitting, just make sure that your head is supported well.  Here's an article Esther wrote about couches, which should extend to your recliner in many ways.

I hope that helps!
