Loveseat I can love?

Have you come across any ergonomic couches/loveseats you’d recommend? I’m only 5-3 (tho my husband’s almost 6’) and everything with a head pillow and lumbar support seems to be designed for his height and catch me in the wrong places! Looking at Stressless by Ekornes, "Buckingham"--so far seems incredibly comfy although way way expensive so I want to be sure. Thank you!

I love a loveseat question for Valentine's Day!

Since you and your valentine are such different heights, the biggest issue may actually be depth and height of the seat--especially since we recommend against the commonly held belief that "lumbar support" is good for your back!

When looking for a couch or love seat, you want to find one that is not too soft, so that you are deeply sunken into it.  You also want your legs to touch the floor, but you don't want your husband's knees up above his hips!  And you want to be able to get your behind behind you, not tucked forward.

The answer may not lie in which love seat to buy, but rather how you sit on it.  This recent blog post by Esther gives a lot of fabulous tips on how to sit on a couch: https://gokhalemethod.com/blog/65135 .  You may need to add pillows for stretching or head support, or firm up the seat with extra firm pillows.  I even know of people who have put a piece of plywood under the bottom cushions of hte couch to make it a bit more firm.

I hope this helps!
