Any suggestions for walking shoes?
Almost two years ago, I tried on Danskos and realized immediately that they forced me into good posture.  I bought 4 pair and haven't worn anything else.  I've been looking for walking shoes and haven't quite found something good.  I was wondering about your suggestions specifically for walking/tennis shoes.  Asics seem to have some benefit, but nothing is like Dansko.  Thanks.

I read your comments about the importance of a kidney shaped foot.  What I have noticed with Danskos is that I now have an arch.  I used to be flat-footed.

Danskos are wonderful shoes for forcing good standing posture, but I can't walk long in them.  I use them for work and have been using camping shoes for walking.  If you have any suggestions for walking shoes, I'd really appreciate it!  I plan to buy some in the next week.

By the way, I'm a huge fan of yours.  My kids all tease me about how seriously I take your book.  I've been to garage sales to buy chairs that don't slope, and I have the stretchsit for driving.  I didn't even have back pain when I read your book, but I just feel so much healthier carrying myself the way you recommend and the way kids (even two of mine, still!) and those in undersdeveloped countries carry themselves.

Personally, I like running shoes. I know they have fallen out of favor and that there is research showing that the more expensive the running shoe (which usually goes with more cushioning) the more likely you are to injure knees, etc. I still like the cushioning. You don't have to get sloppy with your form just because there is cushioning on your shoes. I also like a lot of room in the toe box and a kidney bean shaped last (many running shoes have this.)

Do you have any suggestions of particular brands of running shoes?  I was thinking Asics might be good, but I'd appreciate your input.  Also, I did write up a review on Amazon and gave the book five stars.  You should see it in a few days.  I never had back pain.  I did have some intermittent shoulder and arm pain, which is now gone, so I tagged my review for shoulder pain and arm pain.

I like Asics, some Pumas (though some have very straight lasts), some Nikes, the width of New Balance - I'm not up to date on the models. I need to go shoe shopping myself soon!

Thanks.  It wasn't so clear to me that Asics were good for my posture as it was the Danskos, so I'll go get some with the cushions.

Yes - it has a neon yellow strip around the perimeter.
