Dear sir/madam,
A few weeks ago I have ordered the gokhale method book and I really like the method. I am a student on a budget and I work long hours behind a desk. I also need a new chair. I now have the IKEA RENBERGET chair and this is not a good chair for posture. I just found one on the IKEA website that I think is appropriate to use. It is the IKEA BLECKBERGET chair.
With your experience do you think the BLECKBERGET chair is an appropriate chair in combination with the Stretchsit cushion for posture.
Kind regards,
Naut Kounélas

Dear Naut,
i checked the chair. It looks like it gives some space for bottom, but unfortunatelly you can not move the backrest to addapt the hight. As i look the product size it is clear that backrest is too low (it covers only lumbar spine) to use it for a good stretch in torasic spine. The top of backrest is only 33 cm (13") away from sitbones, which is not much. So look for the hight of the backrest when choosing a chair! Should be at least sth like this: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/kullaberg-swivel-chair-pine-black-10320341/ (this one is 16" higger than the seat and reaches in torasic spine) or this https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/renberget-swivel-chair-bomstad-black-50332238/
Of course depends how tall you are? My favourite chair is https://jysk.co.uk/dining-room/fold-chairs-stools/folding-chair-vig-velvet-rose (cheap, good hight, but not on wheels)
If you have good hight with the backrest, than a Stretchsit cushion can be used in a great way on any chair! If ever the cushion come too low, i would recomment folding it.
Hope this is helpful,
Sabina

Hi Sabina,
I am happy to see your response to Naut. I have been using a folding chair but have felt that the back was too low and also tipped too far back. Now I understand why.
It looks like your favorite chair may only be available in the UK. Have you seen anything like it available in the US? Is the Kullaberg you mentioned above the best bet for folks in the US who can't afford the Pain-free chair?
Thanks!

Hi Sabina,
Thanks for your insightful post. Do you think this Ikea chair, has the right height for the backrest ? I am 5 ' 10".
Also, what do you think of this Staples chair ? Is it similar to the ideal chair you mentioned.
Regards,
Arun
