Hello everyone. I thought others might be interested in this collection of pictures I'm putting together of art featuring women using a footstool to raise one knee to support their babies' backs. I'd say from the frequency of these images from 19th C and earlier Europe that this could have been a popular tool.

I know that nobody responded, but I do thank you for this! I thought it was really interesting and confirmed exactly how I felt while breastfeeding--that I needed a footstool. Would you believe that my husband had made something for another purpose, which I used as a footstool during my pregnancy, and he took it to the junkyard right before the birth!!!
