Questions about Gokhale pain free chair

hi everyone

I would have a few question , hope you can help me

1)

for the standard size of the Gokhale chair it says the height is between 17 inches and 20.5 inches

Is this from the floor to the bottom of the seat ? Or is it from the floor to the top of the sit (top of the cushion)?

2) because you don’t ship to Australia I’m going to get this posted to a friend in the US who is then going to post it to me. To calculate the exact postage with USPS, can you please tell me

A)  weight of the box

B) Length x Width x Height of the box

C) Can i use a wedge when stretchsitting ? If no, why ? If yes, why does Esther mention the use of a wedge only when stacksitting ?

Many thanks

antonio

HI Antonio,

I am a teacher in California, and I don't know the answer to your first questions, so I've let the products people know it's there.  I, too, am 5'8", and find the regular Gokhale chair perfect for me.

As for using a wedge when stretchsitting, we recommend against that.  It is good to have your seat flat (not bucketed), but you get a better lower back stretch if you don't have your pelvis quite as anteverted.  It can be challenging to get a good stretch when on a wedge for a variety of reasons.

I hope that helps!

Hi Antonio

1) The height of the chair is measured from the top of the seat.

2) When packaged for shipping the weight of the chair is 40 pounds. The package is 28 inches x 28 inches x 23 inches.

Hi Abeja could you please let John (or anybody from that department) know that there is another message here from them?

Hi John,

I wasn't able to find a courier that ships to Australia because this package is too big.

However, since I am sure that the package does not need to be so big (there must be a lot of packaging inside as the chair only weighs 25lbs but in the package ends up weighing 40lbs)

I have a friend in the US that can receive the package on my behalf, open the package, put the parts in a new Smaller package and then post it to me to Austrlia.

An option to do this is the Fedex 55lbs box which has the following dimensions

20"(L)  x  17"(W)  x  13(H)"

Here is a picture, https://www.fedex.com/bd/supplies/popup/25kgbox.html , can you let me know if you think this box is big enough to make all the parts fit into it? If you can't work out the answer to this, could you let me know the dimensions in inches (or cm) of the biggest part of the chair (which I guess would be the base) ?

Many thanks

Antonio

The Standard Chair should work just fine for you, as it does me. (I am also 5'8").

I did make sure that Jon sees your other question.

Take care,

Abeja

Hi Abeja ,

I have found someone travelling to Australia form the US so they can bring it with them.

I am about to order the chair, can you please tell me what phone number I could reach Jon on (or whoever is in charge of shipping the chair), as I would like to have a quick chat to arrange the specific of the postage.

Many thanks

Antonio
