Here is the website of a company in the area that makes shoes with springs in them.      http://www.zcoil.com/technology.php
My friend loves them and I have been thinking about a pair. Has anyone tried them and do they really help? I am six weeks back from an L5 /S1 discectamy which was complicated by infection and a second surgery to remove the cyst. It is a slow and demanding recovery even with glide walking and stretch sitting, lying, etc.
Let me know if you have had any experience with these shoes.

Thanks,

I have friends who have these shoes and they look super cushioned. I think this is a good thing provided you maintain good form as well and don't get fooled into having sloppy form because you are wearing cushioned shoes. There is recent research showing that cushioned, expensive shoes correlate with knee damage. A lot of people are getting rid of their shoes altogether and walking (even running) barefoot on cement, etc. I think the best balance is to learn good form and use cushioned shoes.
