I was wondering what the Gokhale pros think about this idea I had to get some spinal traction by doing a downward dog while attached at the hip to a resistance band. the resistance band is anchored up high. How does it look? Sorry the picure isn't the best, but I think you can see how there is a black resistance band attached at my hip and pulling diagonally and up. I am sure my form isn't perfect so any pointers on how to fix that are welcome. I can say that it definitely feels good.

Let me state from the start, I am a multifaceted fitness professional and Gokhale Method Teacher. However I am not a yoga professional and I know Esther advocates a bean shape foot that will need to lift off the floor. It is hard to see, but I think at least your left foot is turned in. I would also be cautious of how much the band is pulling, as well as the band is restricting the flow of the femoral nerve pathway, a major blood, lymph, nerve center. I imagine and hope you are not doing this for very long, so just be careful to not overdo and perhaps begin with bean shaped feet and be sure what you are anchored to is solid.

Thank you Kathleen, I will check the shape of my feet and will make sure not to do it for very long :)
