Hello,
If someone could please watch this and suggest improvements to me, that would be great. I'm having knee pain (front of kneecap, right knee) and have been for 18 months (since I started Glidewalking). I also have slight scoliosis (left lumbar curve).
My next stop is physical therapist to ask them to teach me how to walk again.

1.You're not landing on a bent knee. Your front leg is kicking out somewhat vigorously and thereby straightening out too much.
2. Related to the above, our back heel is not staying down long enough. It takes a bent front knee to facilitate the back heel staying down longer.
3. The combo of landing on a straight leg and not leaving the back heel well planted on the ground creates an uncontrolled and jarring landing - hard on the front knee.
Practice walking like doing mini-lunges, but with the back heel staying on the ground -front knee bent and back leg straight.
You're doing a lot right, btw. The second clip opens with you slightly swayed - put your fists on the lower part of the front of your ribcage and gently push backwards to tuck the ribs and flatten your sway.

Dear Esther,
Thanks for your comments. Happy Birthday to you, by the way. I'll copy your notes and get working on it. I really appreciate you helping me, and how much you've helped me already through your book and this forum.

Hello Esther,
Your tips have been so helpful. Sometimes it's the 43rd time I've heard or read something that it finally clicks. I loved your advice to push fists into the lower rib cage and contract those muscles. I never knew those muscles existed! Please look at this fourth video and see if I am heading in the right direction. I know it's not perfect, but am I a bit closer to ideal here?

I'm picturing in my mind the little boy at the top of page 182 and trying to let my leg have a fun ride forward while the other leg works. Also, I'm really feeling my heel going into the pavement as I'm working to contract the arch muscles as best as I can, then when I remember, I push off with the toes. I'm trying to keep the heel back as long as I can.
I thought I ought to post another video now instead of waiting six months, so you can say "yay" or "nay" to me.
My border terrier still pulls on the leash; I'm working on that, too.
