Embodied Empowerment: Posture, Presence, and Personal Power

About this workshop

You've already done the work. You've learned the techniques, changed your habits, and felt the difference in your physical body. Is there anything else you have noticed has changed?

Many Gokhale Method alumni tell us the same thing: they came to solve their pain; they stay on for the new feelings of empowerment.

After the beginner courses, students don’t just feel less pain. They feel stronger. More confident. More grounded. More themselves. Friends, family, and colleagues start responding to them differently — in meetings, in relationships, in everyday interactions.

This isn't a coincidence. It's what happens when your body finds its natural alignment. Pain leaves. And in its place, something quiet and powerful arrives: a sense of being at home in yourself.

To celebrate International Women's Day, we’re inviting all Gokhale Method alumni to explore this deeper dimension of the work you've already begun.

In this workshop, you'll discover:

  • The connection between your Gokhale Method training and how you show up in the world — your presence, your voice, your confidence
  • How gendered posture norms — "sit like a lady," hide your breasts, make yourself small — may still be influencing your body, even after your training
  • Why postural equanimity — neither shrinking nor puffing up — is more powerful than any "power pose"
  • The science connecting open, aligned posture with reduced depression and anxiety
  • How techniques you already know (shoulder rolls, inner corset, rib anchor, glidewalking) look and feel different when practised through the lens of personal power

Susan Gerhard, 58-year-old Masters World Champion in Olympic weightlifting, and Gokhale alumna, discovered that the Gokhale Method was the key for recovering from her back injury and getting back to international competitions.
Her mantra is: "Don't let age be your cage."

Our teacher Doreen Giles found she no longer needed antidepressants after learning healthy alignment.

Katie Rietman, a professional cellist, came for shoulder pain and found something she didn't expect: "I feel more confident and energetic, and much kinder towards myself and others: life and the load we all carry feels much lighter."

In this workshop, we’ll show you how to turn your posture knowledge into personal power.

Why You’ll Want to Join Live

  • Esther will be doing live mini-consultations with 2 or 3 attendees— send your photos and questions to [email protected] if you’d like to be selected
  • Follow along with familiar techniques through an empowerment lens

While the workshop recording will be available until March 16, midnight PT, the live interaction and energy will add an extra spark to the work.

Special Offers for Alumni
At the end of the workshop, we'll share exclusive alumni offers on Gokhale Active Premium Plus memberships — including access to our upcoming exclusive Premium Plus workshop "Projecting Personal Power" with Esther.

This workshop is open to all Gokhale Method alumni — Foundations, Elements, and Immersion (previously called Pop-Up) graduates. All genders are welcome.
