The Gokhale Method® is an approach to solving musculoskeletal pain grounded in logic, anthropology, and decades of experience. In this workshop, we will explore the common movement mistakes that lead to wear, tear, and injury—illustrated through examples from yoga practice and strength training. Many of the movement patterns we learn and repeat during exercise become deeply ingrained and inevitably carry over into everyday life, for better or worse.
What are these damaging habits, and how do they differ from movements that are truly healthy and therapeutic? We have found the answers by studying populations across many eras and regions worldwide who do not suffer the epidemic of back pain and other musculoskeletal pains that we do.
The Gokhale Method has developed an effective, tried and tested “user-manual” to enable people to return to the healthier J-spine shape preserved by these populations—and we want you to hear about it loud and clear—Yes You Can!

We used to focus on teaching our unique and effective approach to getting people out of pain—and keeping them there. But something interesting happened as our students progressed. Once they were out of the woods—once they learned to move without pain—they didn't want to stop there.
They wanted to become stronger. More flexible. Capable of tasks and activities they'd given up on ever doing again—or for the first time. With a trusty base layer of functionality in place, we now guide those students on the next step of their journey: building strength to expand their physical horizons, competence, and confidence.
