About this workshop
Explore the mechanics of walking as you are meant to
Glidewalking is the most complex technique taught in our beginner courses. After learning the basics, many students feel that they have not quite “got it” and ask for help in refining their technique.
This online group course is a deep-dive, offering individual coaching, guidance and feedback during class practice and on videos you may choose to submit. Each of the six lessons builds on what you learned previously, focusing on nuanced adjustments to perfect your gait. We'll use music, photos and video clips to illustrate key teaching points.
Explore the mechanics of glidewalking in detail, including the role of major muscles in the hips, legs, and feet, and learn to integrate these action components with the relaxation phase of each step.
Lesson 1 - Stability of torso
Lesson 2 - Glutes
Lesson 3 - Feet
Lesson 4 - Relaxation phase of gait
Lesson 5 - Emotion and gait
Lesson 6 - Review: Different priorities related to how much attention is available or which body parts need extra help
Join us for a fun and educational adventure in revisiting and refining glidewalking.
