In this workshop, you’ll start to learn the why and the how of the Gokhale Method.

With simple adjustments to the way you stand, sleep, bend, and sit, you can transform your posture and address the cause of your back pain, not just the symptoms.  



“Several months ago, when I first heard about the Gokhale Method from a friend who is an occupational therapist, I considered taking one of the free classes to get a better idea of what it entailed. However, I kept putting it off thinking that I should wait until my back felt better. After all, how was I going to sit for an hour and a half in a classroom when I couldn’t even sit 10 minutes in my own home due to severe sciatica pain? Finally I decided to attend one of the free classes thinking that I would just stand in the back of the room if the pain became too intolerable.     I came to gokhale looking for some help with back issues. I’ve exercised and played sports my whole life but never brought awareness to my posture. Now in medical school it became evident I needed to find techniques to sustain sitting at a desk for 12-14 hours a day.

    Working with Harrison I learned many techniques about good sitting posture, neck strengthening, walking and standing. I am able to intertwine these techniques with my studying to maintain a healthy back and body.

    I had horrible lower back pain. I had to go to an orthopedist to learn exercises to fix my back pain and even with 15 minutes in the morning dedicated to fixing my back pain, it didn’t work.
