I'm a UK Gokhale follower, and have been using the programme for over a year now. I follow Gokhale Fitness, and sometimes do the Dance sessions as well.
Both of these have helped me in many ways, building strength over my whole body - but the most striking difference is in my back. I'm only in my 40s, but suffered with some back issues since my 30s when I herniated a disc. I had severe pain for some time, which was followed by chronic back ache and frequent muscle cramps down my right leg. I usually had a very stiff back in the mornings when I got up. Now, the back aches are largely gone unless I stand for a long period of time (and forget to maintain good posture), and I no longer have any stiffness when I get up in the morning. I also used to wake up at night with back and hip ache, and have to shift position all the time to get comfortable, but I don't experience this kind of discomfort any more. The only change in my lifestyle is introducing Gokhale exercise, so that is what I credit with all the improvement. I have, however, hurt my shoulder, somehow - but that's another story! Perhaps I was too ambitious with the weights.
I was always a fit and active person, even trying to walk a lot when my lower back was quite painful -- but I was not very strong, or aware of my posture in the way I am now.
If I can be of further help in giving feedback, fire away!
Also, thanks so much for all of your work in helping people get fitter and stronger - the sessions really are wonderful, and must help so many people of all different ages. (I love your outdoor sessions when I can watch out for the pony in the background - I have a pony myself!).
