About this workshop
The Essence of Glidewalking
Glidewalking is perhaps the most complex Gokhale Method technique taught in our Foundations, Elements and Pop-Up courses. After learning the basics, many students feel they have not quite “got it” and wish to refine their glidewalking.
At the request of many students, this new online intensive course is a deep-dive into techniques you first learned during our courses and offers practice, coaching and guidance in which students receive individual feedback during lessons. Video material will help you truely understand the essence of glidewalking.
The Essence of Glidewalking is walking in harmony with your body and your environment. As if you were walking on a cloud: you move more smoothly, look better and more graceful. Your mind and body are one: you think of moving forward and your body moves in a way that blends the mental and physical. In this course we give you the tools to find this in yourself.
When your walking becomes a series of controlled forward propulsions, your tread is lighter, your walking experience becomes smoother and calmer.
Learn to fly with us through 6 weekly group online lessons of 55 minutes, where we track each element of walking from take-off, landing, propulsion, cruising as well as visiting dynamic stability and finally relaxing into the spirit of glide-walking. It is our birthright as a species to live as well in our bodies as any other animal. We see the inherent beauty, grace, and instinct in animals and how they are built to navigate their environments. We should expect as much from our bodies - to be strong, agile and flexible.
Health benefits: Over time you will strengthen the gluteus, leg and foot arch muscles, and if you walk briskly, the inner corset. You may also notice additional length in your psoas muscle, where before it was tight. Glidewalking improves your circulation, burns more calories, protects the hips from wear and tear, helps your pelvis into healthy anteversion, builds glute strength and enables you to walk longer distances comfortably and without pain.
