Terence Shaw's Testimonial about Fiona Nichols

My Impression of  The Gohkale Method
I am a recently retired 60 year old Male who is still active, surfing, prospecting, bike riding, etc.
I have always been fortunate with my body, no major problems that have stopped me from doing what I want.
However, I have always had a niggling back problem , my first memory of it was aged roughly twenty. I went to the chiropractor for help back then with little respite.
Treatments over the years include: massages , bought a massage chair, popped a lot of pain killers and Ibruprofen, seen Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Physiotherapists etc over the years, all with no long lasting relief.
The final straw was when i rode an Adventure bike from Geraldton W.A. to Alice Springs along the Outback Way.
I could only ride for 75 kms before i would have to get off and stretch and try and get ready for the next stint, much to the annoyance of my riding partner.
When I heard about Gohkale I thought I would give it a go to give myself a chance to keep fit and active.
As is the case with most courses, I learnt and gained more than i thought i would.
  1. The Foundations Course makes sense, its logical. I found the course helped me understand what was going on with my back problems and gave clear instructions on what to do to help.
  2. I learnt how to strech my spine when sitting, laying, standing and walking. The stretching has made the most difference for me.
  3. I have grown in awareness of my posture and how this affecting my back pain and overall health. Awareness leads to better practise, which is ongoing. My improved posture makes me feel better about myself. I am not so hunched over anymore.
  4. I have clear steps to take to alleviate pain and discomfort if I get off track.

Fiona was an excellent facillitator who really knew her stuff and genuinley cared that her students understood and gained their goals from the course.

The Gohkale Method has been an excellent course for me as it has given me via simple instructions , steps and procedures, a way to manage my back pain by myself.
    And it works.
