I attended a two days Gokhale Method course just over a month ago. I learnt so much about how important certain postures are. Tegan took photographs of each course participant before and after the course. These pictures showed how our postures have improved when applying the Gokhale Method. During the course we were shown photographs taken from all over the world and once I got my eyes into it, I was able to spot which were good or bad postures and what people did right or wrong.
During the course we learnt to stretch our back muscles. This is important as it will help the muscles to relax and use them differently. The back stretcher which can be bought at the class is very useful. We were also shown how to stand, walk, sit and bend over. I now use these new skills when moving around during the day. I sometimes dig in the garden to move soil. I used to get lower back pain at the end of the day. Now it is so much better. I still have to continue practicing and strengthening the neglected muscles in my back, torso and legs. It is an ongoing process.
The course was very much hands on, which I liked very much. Two instructors were available to go around to correct us and gave plenty of advice. They were also always available for questions. I highly recommend this course. Just two days but you will walk away with so much information which will help you to continue to improve your body.
