My Favorite Exercises for When You Can’t Get to the Gym, Part 2: Toning the Gluteus Medius
Written by: Esther Gokhale
The gluteus medius is often-overlooked, but supports healthy posture, athletic performance, and an attractive appearance.
Exercise is wonderful not only for keeping us strong and healthy, but also for relieving stress and anxiety. Now that gyms are shut down again here in California, home exercise is more important than ever before.
The gluteus medius muscle is almost always underdeveloped in people who’ve been raised in industrialized cultures. But it is an important player in gait, running, and athletics. It also helps with balance and fall-prevention as we move through the world, no matter our age.
In my latest blog post, I'll walk you through an exercise I've devised over the years that targets and strengthens the gluteus medius -- especially helpful for when we can't access the gym.

New Teacher
Congratulations to our newest teacher:
Julie Johnson
Now teaching in Germany.
Julie came across the Gokhale Method when looking for a solution to her long-standing back pain. The intense fitness routine she had developed to cope with her history of back problems gradually changed from being helpful to causing excruciating pain, forcing her to give up the classes she had loved.
Subsequent research led Julie to Esther Gokhale, and her pain disappeared after taking the Gokhale Method Foundations Course. Now pain free and full of energy, Julie finds it incredibly rewarding to share Gokhale Method knowledge and help students on their own path to feeling comfortable in their bodies. She teaches in both English and German, online and in person and is happy to travel to teach.
