Upcoming Dates
- Sept 12 - 18, 2013
- Dec 10 - 16, 2013
The seven-day 9 am - 5 p.m. immersion with Esther Gokhale is offered in Palo Alto, California. The focus of the Immersion Week is hands-on technique and optimal instruction of the various offerings of the Gokhale Method, such as Free Workshop, Initial Consultation and the Gokhale Method Foundations (GMF) course. The Immersion Week includes supervised teaching of an intensive version of the GMF course.
There will also be presentation of select cases, anatomy overview, training in advanced Gokhale Method techniques, training in various contexts (gym, outdoors, home environment, museum, etc.), discussion of complementary healing modalities as they relate to posture training, rudimentary training in yoga / dance / fitness as those relate to posture training, and tips on running a posture business. Training materials including teaching scripts and images used in the GMF course will be provided prior to the Immersion Week.
Phase II: Learning and Exercising
Following the week-long immersion, teachers leave Palo Alto and spend three months absorbing and exercising the material they were exposed to in the immersion week. This is an important period during which teachers get extra guidance as they absorb new material in various ways, and then demonstrate their ability to teach the GMF course, Free Workshops and Initial Consultations.
Phase III: Initial teaching
After completing Phases I and II, teachers are approved to conduct Free Workshops, Initial Consultations and the GMF course to individual students (One-on-One). After teaching a minimum of four One-on-One GMF courses, teachers are approved to teach small groups of 2-4 students.
Phase IV: Teaching
After teaching a minimum of two small groups, teachers are approved to teach full-sized group Gokhale Method Foundations courses (max. 8 students).
