Bridges a good exercise?

Hi, appreciate any thoughts on this.  My PT wants me to do 50 bridges a day, 10 or so reps at a time, with 30 second rests between sets. I'm wondering how wise this is. We have worked on walking somewhat, but I am hoping for "every step a rep" training!
