Would there be a reason to stretch the hipflexors?

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding stretching  the hipflexors. There seems to be alot of youtube videos on stretching tight hipflexors. In the book (8 steps to a pain free back) mentions that the pelvis should be anteverted naturally. Since the pelvis is meant to be anteverted, would there even be a reason to stretch the hip flexors? Wouldnt stretching the hip flexors encourage a retroverted pelvis (posterior pelvis tilt)? Is it even possible to have tight hipflexors? Wouldn't a rib anchor fix this issue?

We encourage stretching the hipflexors for better flexation during hip-hinging.  If a person has not been bending properly then the hipflexors will be shortened and will need to be stretched.  Proper hip-hinging requires well stretched hiplfexors and hamstrings, so yes, it is important to stretch both.  Stretching the hipflexors properly will not interfere with pelvic anteversion.  There is a huge plus to having stretched hipflexors...not only will it feel good but you will have more flexiblity!  Stretch them at least once a day and you will feel a difference......
