The Inner Corset protects your spine by lengthening/strengthening it and by creating space between the discs, thereby protecting them from wear and tear. Use the Inner Corset when you are faced with more challenging tasks, such as lifting heavier objects, playing active sports, jumping, riding horses, putting a box of books up on a shelf....etc., etc.  The Inner Corset will protect and stabilize your spine so that you can avoid compression and distortion of the spine while you are active.

Monitor you back to avoid swaying your back when you are using the Inner Corset. If you have weak abdominal muscles, this can be a problem. (See exercises starting on page 197 to strenthen and maintain ab muscles). Also, you may notice that your breathing feels restricted when you first start using the Inner Corset.  This is usually due to stiff intercostal muscles (between your ribs) and should resolve with time, as you start to breath more fully into your chest while using your Inner Corset.
